Netstar Announces Rentrak as New Ground Recovery Partner
Netstar, a subsidiary of Altron, has appointed Rentrak, part of JSE-listed Supergroup, as its new ground recovery partner effective 1 March 2019.
As a result Netstar’s recovery footprint has significantly increased from 20 to 33 locations country wide with a further two locations to be added within the next month. The appointment was made after a comprehensive tender and evaluation process taking into consideration many factors.
“We believe that teaming up with Rentrak who have the largest national ground recovery network will enable us to take our already high recovery rates to the next level. When Netstar pioneered vehicle tracking and recovery, 25 years ago in South Africa, we came to market with a commitment to assist in combating crime and getting vehicles and assets back to their rightful owners. This pledge remains at our heart and is stronger than ever,” says Pierre Bruwer, Netstar’s Group Managing Director. Today, more than 700 000 subscribers have entrusted Netstar to protect their vehicles and fleets and over the years Netstar has greatly contributed to curbing vehicle related crimes.
“Rentrak has over 20 years of experience and with our huge national footprint and using Netstar advanced telematics technology we will strive to keep Netstar customers, their families and their employees even safer and their vehicles and fleets even securer”, added Dave Renton, CEO of Rentrak. Netstar has a unique JammingResist feature which works through a combination of radio frequency and GSM/GPS tracking technology not only to detect but counteract signal jamming which has become more widely used by criminals.
The change in ground recovery partner will not impact on how Netstar’s customers request recovery support; this process will remain the same with all requests being handled by their 24/7 Emergency Call Centre. The transition to Rentrak has been carefully managed to ensure a seamless process with uninterrupted service for Netstar clients. “We thank our outgoing partner for their excellent service and support in helping us to combat crime over the years we worked together” added Bruwer.
