How it all works
01
Tracking Units
Small devices, which can receive signals and transmit responses to the control centre, are installed in the vehicle.
02
Fitments
We have 200 mobile fitters throughout South Africa, managed by qualified auto electricians and carefully-selected installation technicians meticulously trained by the Netstar Quality Control team.
03
Control centre
Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the control centre is responsible for activating tracking units in stolen or hijacked vehicles, co-ordinating ground and air recovery operations, liaising with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and communicating with subscribers.
04
Ground and air recovery teams
Private ground and air recovery teams with highly-trained recovery personnel immediately respond to incidents. Although they may at times work in conjunction with the SAPS, they do not rely on the SAPS for the recovery of stolen vehicles.
05
Battery back-up
While Netstar systems are powered by the vehicle’s battery, should this battery be disconnected our systems have back-up batteries that enable them to continue transmitting a signal with ample time for recovery.
06
Testing
To test your Netstar unit, call us on 0860 12 24 36 and request a test. Only the GSM/GPS products can provide an accurate description of the vehicle's location.
